Each year, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee hosts several signature events and fundraisers. These events are our primary way to raise awareness about the hunger in our region as well as raise funds to help support our operations.
The Farmer and the ChefA Unique Culinary Experience
Enjoy a great evening out while helping feed the hungry in Northeast Tennessee at Second Harvest Food Bank’s annual The Farmer and The Chef event in August. Local farmers and chefs unite to create a unique culinary experience using seasonal products to prepare their signature dishes. Past participants include chefs from The Blackthorn Club, Wellingtons, Olive Oil Divine, Fire In The Hole Pizza, J. Bake and Company, Raw Chef Jane, Yong Asian House, Sodexo , and farmers from Dungan Farms, Riverhouse Farms, Sunset View Farms, J E M Farms, Ziegenwald Dairy, and more.
Silent and live auctions are part of the evening and feature a wide range of items for which attendees may bid.
Proceeds from this major fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee go directly to help feed individuals and families in our region that may go hungry due to lack of access to food. At the same time, this event helps establish sustainable relationships between local farmers and chefs which are vital to the well-being of our community.
