Alliance to End Hunger: Prayer for an End to Hunger

As a partner food bank in the Feeding America Network of Food Banks, we support Feeding America’s participation in The Alliance to End Hunger. The Alliance is a coalition of corporations, faith-based organizations, non-profits, universities, foundations, international organizations, and individuals sharing the conviction that hunger is unacceptable and that ending hunger is both essential and possible.

Along with other non-profits and faith-based organizations that address the issue of hunger, Feeding America made a commitment to create the Interfaith Campaign for Food and Nutrition Security, a group of faith-based and secular organizations committed to the goal to “end hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030, so that fewer Americans experience diet-related diseases like diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.”

No matter anyone’s faith perspective, we believe most people are motivated by their faith to seek an end to hunger.  At a time when millions of people across our country face hunger and food insecurity on a regular basis, this campaign to end hunger is desperately needed.

During the National Day of Prayer on May 2 we are inviting you to commit to an end to hunger and food insecurity across the nation by joining in a virtual event to be held that day at 8:00pm EDT. The event will feature religious leaders, public health advocates and more from around the country who will discuss these critical issues as we pray for an end to hunger.

The entire diverse community of faith is critical to the eventual success of these efforts.  Please join us by clicking HERE.  We hope you will share this invitation with your community of faith members
